Print View		The Lyra foundation The Lyra Foundation was established in 1995 by Dr. Hans Vontobel with the goal of promoting talented, young people. He formulated the purpose of his foundation thus: "For the promotion of young musicians who demonstrate special gifts. The foundation aspires to no personal gain whatsoever." Types of support available 1. Financial aid for the education of young, highly-gifted musicians. For example, contributions towards the tuition and living expenses of both foreigners and Swiss in Switzerland or of Swiss abroad. The necessity for financial support must, however, be proven and documented. 2. Regular subsidy for the summer-academy Astona International. This yearly, 3-week summer course trains selected young and highly-gifted string-players and pianists in solo playing, chamber music and orchestra. 3. Scholarships for participants in Astona International or other courses. You can support the Lyra Foundation - with a contribution to the Foundation itself - with the donation of a scholarship upon the advice of the Foundation - with the donation of a scholarship for Astona International (CHF 2'500.-- pro scholarship) Personal contact for sponsors with these young artists Whoever supports Lyra must do so wholeheartedly and with enthusiasm and idealism. Sponsors will be specially invited to the concerts of the Lyra Foundation. If desired, we can also arrange personal contacts for you with the young musicians you are helping to support.
